EnergyWise Phase1/2 - associated version

Hello All,

How can i know wich phase of EnergyWise I'm running?

show output:

Switch#sh energywise version
EnergyWise is Enabled
IOS Version:  12.2(52)XO
EnergyWise Specification:  (t_nrgyz_v122_52_sg_throttle)1.0.14

Really hard to find clear documentation on this topic.

If I'm running Phase 2 then the "Cisco EnergyWise Configuration Guide" for v2 seriously

needs to be reviewed as lots of listed commands are not available!

Regards,

Thibault.

I think that these are just bad examples. If you look at the combatibility matrix

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/energywise/phase2/ios/release/notes/OL19810.html#wp54743

the "Cisco EnergyWise Specification" shows 0.6.n to be Phase 1 and version 1.x is not even listed - but I would assume it is Phase 1. The reason is, that all "Cisco EnergyWise Specifications" which belong to Phase 2 start win 2_x in the above table.

according to your output I would say you have Phase 1, version 1.0.14
even there is a document that lists IOS 12.2(52) as Phase 2:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/energywise/phase2/ios/release/notes/OL19810.html
but as usual, this is just a guideline and certain version of the IOS 12.2(52) train could still be Phase 1

also at the end of this doc you see version 1.0.1
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/energywise/phase1/ios/configuration/guide/cli_comm.html
which is not listed in the first doc I mention

Thanks for your answer mermel.

If you look at the Energywise Configuration Guide v1 you can find this output in the doc :

Switch# show energywise version
EnergyWise is Enabled
IOS Version: 12.2(50)SE
EnergyWise Specification: 1.0.1

If you look at the Energywise Configuration Guide v2 you can find this output in the doc :

Switch# show energywise version
EnergyWise is Enabled
IOS Version: 12.2(52)SE
EnergyWise Specification: 0.6.33

Either I'm missing something or I'm getting really confused....

Nice one. Seems this is what I was looking for.

Thanks.

Thibault.

to further add to this discussion, i've just upgraded the switch to the latest IOS release and here is what i have:

Switch#sh energywise version
EnergyWise is Enabled
IOS Version:  12.2(54)SG1
EnergyWise Specification:  (rel2_5)1.1.7

It seems the spec keyword "(rel2_5)" is the best way to be sure you're dealing with a Phase 2 EW.

thanks for sharing this information!
