File rights for LMS 4.1 on a Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have been having a number of different problems (Java not being able to start, polling jobs not being able to add devices, etc) and am wondering if the root cause could be a rights issue on my server.  I have installed LMS (which was an upgrade from 3.x to 4.0 on one box and then 4.0 to 4.1 on a different box).  The software is installed on a D: drive with C: as the OS drive.

My understanding is that causer and local admins need full rights to the entire file structure of ..\program files\ciscoworks directory\... and I am wondering if there are other locations that need additional access.

Thanks!

David

David,

The LMS installer takes care of these settings, except for the backup directory of course.

On windows casuser needs proper rights on the CSCOpx directory and directories below, and the backup directory.

I usually make casuser the owner of these directories.

It's also important if the server is in a domain with restrictive policies that LMS is on a 'do not touch' list of the policy server.

Cheers,

Michel
