Has anyone used "Cisco Enhanced Device Interface 2.1"? This is an sort of add-on host system that provides command line access to Cisco devices. Instead of, for example, logging directly into a router you tell E-DI what changes you want to make and it goes and makes the changes on your behalf. It can syntax check your commands before deploying them. It can send the commands to multiple devices. It has a built-in PERL scripting language that can be used for complex tasks on devices like.

You need specific hardware to support E-DI (see the Quick Start guide at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/ps6456/products_quick_start_book09186a008060bda5.html ). As for a demo or eval, contact your sales team or SE. They may be able to hook you up. I have not heard any policy regarding eval copies for E-DI.

I did testing on the initial release. I can try to answer any questions you have on the appliance.

I have been trying to find or download a demo copy to test. I currently have a home built LINUX box that I use in conjunction with 6 LMS servers.
