i have switches already configured with snmpv3 and i need to move the configuration to other switches and have some understanding of the commands:
1-does "access snmplist" is an access-list that points to the server which is using the snmp like solarwinds?
2- what does "snmp-server source-interface informs Vlan20" do?
3-what does "snmp-server contact NET TSD-Network Department" do as well?
4-can i copy paste this configuration on all switches on the site and it will do the same effect?
snmp-server group swi v3 auth read sample write sample access snmplist
snmp-server view sample iso included
snmp-server view sample dod included
snmp-server view sample internet included
snmp-server source-interface informs Vlan20
snmp-server location dubai
snmp-server contact NET TSD-Network Department

BB - check the ACL in you switch has snmplist <<- ues solarwinds IP address here
2- what does "snmp-server source-interface informs Vlan20" do?
BB - souce of the interface where it uses to send trap to SOALRWINDS
3-what does "snmp-server contact NET TSD-Network Department" do as well?
BB - This is where the switch department belong for information base
4-can i copy paste this configuration on all switches on the site and it will do the same effect?
BB - as long as same ACL available and VLAN 20 available it should work

Hi
wheres your snmp user config its hidden part of the config ? should be a line snmp-server user swi and you should really avail of AES and SHA if using SNMPv3
snmp user config does not show in running config if you copied this from somewhere , without it it wont work
example
xxxxxx#sh snmp us
User name: xxxxxx
Engine ID: 800000090300BCC49371D681
storage-type: nonvolatile active access-list: 5
Authentication Protocol: SHA
Privacy Protocol: AES128
Group-name: XSNMPV3
User name: xxxxxxx
Engine ID: 800000090300BCC49371D681
storage-type: nonvolatile active access-list: 6
Authentication Protocol: SHA
Privacy Protocol: AES128
Group-name: XSNMPV3RW
