Prime Infrastructure (PI) provides information about the endpoints you mentioned, from several aspects:
• Connectivity – where the endpoint is connected, wired (which switch, port, VLAN) and wireless (which SSID, AP, VLAN). This information is collected from the wireless controllers (client list) and switches (MAC address forwarding table).
• IP address (dual stack) – client MAC address is matched with the segment’s routers ARP entries to find the IP address associated with the endpoint.
• User Experience – Which applications the endpoint is using, how much traffic, server conversations, application response time and more. Endpoint traffic information collected from Netflow, AVC and NAMs is matched with the endpoints IP address.
• Location – Shows the client’s location in the building, floor. Provided with the integration between PI and the Mobility Services Engine (MSE)
• Policy – Which policy and profile the client received from the Identity Services Engine (ISE). This is possible due to the tight integration between PI and ISE.
