How to connect 2 routers using the console port

Hi

I want to connect 2 routers using the console port. On the first routeur, I want to be able to login to the second one, because this router is just powered on but not connected to any network (acting like a spare router)

Any ideas to do this ?

your best bet would be to have 1 router acting as a term server and use an octal cable from router 1 to connect to router 2

On router 1 the main end of the cable would connect to an async port while the other end connects to the console port of router 2

I don't think there's a way to connect console to console on routers.
