Hi
Can someone please tell me, that if there are two IOS files exist in my flash, or in other words, even if I upload a new IOS, it still uses the old IOS to boot.
Can you please tell me without deleting the old IOS how can I tell my device to use the new one that I uploaded?
If there are seperate commands, can you please tell me for 2500s, 1700s, 2950s and 3550s routers and switches?
Thank you in advance!

Under config t:
2500 and 1700:
boot system flash
e.g. boot system flash flash:c1700-y-mz.124-1a.bin
2950 and 3550:
boot system
e.g. boot system flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-25.SEF

Hi
Thanks a lot for your reply. I think it is correct. I will try that out when I get back to work in just a couple of days.
Many thanks!

by default the device should boot up using the new IOS , but the commands are also helpfull.
