IP SLA not showing "packet loss"

Hello friends

I am facing some IP SLA implementation issues. I trying to test my requirement in a LAB scenario.

My network is R1--->R2 .I am configuring UDP jutter feature of IPSLA on these routers.R1 is the source and R2 is the Responder. When i see the "show ip sla statistics" i see the packet loss always 0 ,even if i shut down the interfaces of the connected routers while doing a continuous ping . Rest of the values like jitter,RTT are showing up fine. Kindly let me know your views on this problem.
