I'm trying to backup Ciscoworks database and the backup job failed due to space issue. Is there a utility to help rotate /var/adm/CSCOpx/log log files? Or any utilities to help clean up the /var/adm/CSCOpx/ directory.
thanks

Absolutely. We ship logrot.pl with LMS which can be configured to periodically rotate (and optionally archive) log files. The logrot.pl script is located in /opt/CSCOpx/bin, and you can find more details on how to configure it in the Common Services online help. Just search for logrot.

You can also use Solaris logadm tool. Its config is in /etc/logadm.conf.

Yes, you can. However, be very careful to use the -c option to logadm when rotating syslog_info as not doing this will change the inode number of the file requiring syslogd to be restarted before new syslog messages will show up.
Additionally, other log files (e.g. daemons.log) cannot be properly rotated by logadm when dmgtd is running.
