Hi

We have recently installed a new version of LMS 3.2, and everything is working fine.

but till now the backup process hasn't started correctly to a directory on our drive D, and once I start a backup process, I recieved the following error

ERROR (1261): FATAL error: Database engine 'opsxmleng' could not be started on database 'opsxml' in Bulk mode.. Backup failed.

Has anyone seen this issue before ?

appreciate your advice.

Best do a dbRestoreOrig.pl for that database. Find the script in CSCOpx\bin.

Cheers,

Michel

thanks for your reply,

firstly I write the command "net stop crmdmgtd" and then I found the dbRestoreOrig.pl, but the question here is ,

what do I have to write inside the command prompt once I click on the dbRestoreOrig.pl

plz advice

Check out this document Hussein. It explains the use better then I can.

thanks for document, I used the following command to initialize the database :

C:\Program Files (x86)\CSCOpx\bin>perl dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=opsxml dmprefix=Opsxml

and I got the following result, there is an Error

WARNING: Existing contents of opsxml database will be lost.

so what can I do at this moment ?

plz advice,

Best put the daemon manager service to manual and then reboot the server.

That we you are sure no other process can still lock the database. I guess that is what is happening.

Then repeat the procedure you did above.

All this is best doen as the servers local administrator.

Cheers,

Michel

ok,

I set the daemon manager service to manual and performed a restart to the server.

and then I noticed that all cisco works services in a manual status and all of them are not started.

So I repeated our procedure that are mentioned above and still I have received the same error.....

do I have to reinstall the LMS  ???

regards.

That is probably the fastest way.  Since you can restore a "good" backup not more more work needs to be done.

Alternatively you may want to try to see if the TAC can do something.

Cheers,

Michel
