LMS 3.2 - configuring IPM

Hi!

Can anyone assist me with configuring IPM?

(describe in few steps how to set things up)

I have a ring network (running OSPF) and I would like to monitor delay  and availability on optical lines connecting these devices. I would also like to monitor critical devices (6500VSS for example...).

Which is the simplest way to configure these IPM monitors and how are they used?

Thank you for your help!

IPM will configure the IP SLA feature on the source device (most IOS devices with an image better than IPBASE will be fine).  IPM is not very involved.  You will generally work from left to right under IPM > Collector Mgmt.  Consult the context-sensitive online help for specific details.

The most basic thing you can do is an ICMP echo operation from a single source device to multiple targets.  This doesn't require anything special to be configured on the target devices (besides IP).  On the source device, you only need valid SNMP read-write credentials configured with matching values in DCR.
