LMS 4.0.1 Removed VLANs

Greetings

The LMS 4.0.1 keeps sending ICMP messages to VLAN interfaces that have been removed months ago.

these logs are filling up my log server

Sep 19 08:40:37 10.x.x.x :Sep 20 07:45:34 UTC: %ASA-session-3-305006: portmap translation creation failed for icmp src inside:LMS4.0.1 dst inside:removed vlan interface (type 8, code 0)

How do I update the poller to use the latest config information for the switch?

Cheers

Hi Andrew.

Actually this is a DFM (Device Fault Manager) issue within the LMS.  There is a workaround to the problem:

DFM perform ICMP polling on all the IP addresses (Device IP Addresses and component IP Addresses) managed in DFM .

To stop ICMP polling to a particular IP address , please perform below steps:

1.       Execute below command to check which component is having the IP from CSCOpx/objects/smarts/bin

dmctl -s DFM1 get IP:: IP-

Example : dmctl -s DFM get IP:: IP-10.77.209.6

You can identify the device from the attribute HostedBy in the output.

2.       Unmanage the particular IP from  Detailed Device  View a)      Go to Monitor > Fault Settings >Setup > Fault > Device Details. b)      Select the Device and press view. c)       Click on the device name, Detailed Device View will appear d)      Select IP , unmanage that particular IP by changing managed state to false and submit. e)      Then go to Monitor > Fault Settings > Setup > Apply Changes and press Yes apply changes to the fault engine

Hope this helps.
