Hi ,

I have Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition and installed the LMS 4.0 with 700 devices license. It is installed properly but when i tried to add the devices manually through

Inventory > Device management > add/delete devices

I am getting error saying that , " DCR server may be down or DCR is not started "

When i check the Admin > server monitoring > processes > DCR server .... this service is running normally

what could be the issue?

Workaround :

I have done below workaround :

I checked whether the DNS name is getting resolved or not ? and i tried to change the local host file entry and checked it is resolving properly. but DCR server is giving me same error .

In pdshow output as well  , I am getting status as DCR server : running normally

please suggest me for the same .

Hi,

LMS 4.0 is not supported in Windows 2008 R2 by default.

However, there is a patch available to fix that. I would start there.

Please go to the following URL to download the patch:

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=283434800&flowid=19062&os=Windows&softwareid=280775103&release=4.0&rellifecycle=&relind=AVAILABLE&reltype=latest

Also I have seen this kind of issues when IPV6 is enabled on the server. IPV6 is enabled by default in Windows Server 2008, please also disable that.

Andres.
