Hi Im looking to replace a v440 with a newer sun hardware and I don t reaaly whcih model to choose, My licence supports 5000 devices running on solaris 10. my budget is £4000-6000.

the questions are:

is a T1000 strong enough ?

are 2 cpu equivalent to 2 cores with the latest sparcs ?

the csicoworks recommendation is not eanought clear to make the appropriate hardwre choice with the new sun hardware

can someone shed light on this, i would neeed to order this server asap so i can resinstall csicoworks

For the budget, a T1000 will work. I would go with the 8 core, 16 GB option. If you can coax them out of a little more money, a T2000 with the 1.2 GHz T1 CPU would give you better performance.
