LMS2.2 - ANI Discovery not complete ?

Hi,

on win32 server we have LMS2.2.

I have put in appr. 180 Seed devices, mostly remote MPLS sites.

My discovery doesnt discover the MPLS LAN, just the seed device ??

If I telnet to the router and issue sho cdp nei, i see the devices there. SNMP etc are correct.

Also I have one switch were my CallManagers are in, aswell as some IPPhones.

The CCM are not discoverd, nad no phones eighter ??

What to do ?

What do you have configured for

Server Configuration->Setup->Ani Server Admin->

SNMP settings?

Individual entries for each ip address or using

ip ranges with wildcards?

If you have different SNMP strings configured for all your devices, you need to put individual

entries, if you are using the same SNMP strings for

all your devices, then use the wildcards

Example:

If your network is 10 ip address space, then in

SNMP Settings, enter your target as:

10.*.*.*

Since these are remote sites, you may want to

increase the SNMP timeouts and retries

Make it 10 for timeouts and 3 for retries

Do you have any devices show up in Topology Services->Network Views->Unconnected View

is your network all Cisco Devices?

I use wildcard for snmp.

plz note all routers ARE discovered ! and I have edited the config on them with netconfig, inorder to enable CDP in the first place.

I have all the routers as unconnected in Topy-Serv.

and YEZ - It all Cisco... or unmanaged boxes, like hubs

ok, so today I enabled debugging and trace for the topology in ANIserver.

Very interesting !

Tells me why the IP Phone and CCM are not discoverd:

2005/05/03 16:08:16 Discovery ani TopoSMFGenerateCdpTopology: No device found for IP address 10.35.42.4 - entry dropped.

same stuff goes for the phones.

How to correct this ?
