MWR 2941 is "unknown" in DCR and CM Topology

We are using LMS 3.2 for our customer and will manage MWR 2941 routers. It can be discovered but are shown as "unknown" devices. In the topology, it is also questioned.I have checked the supported devices in LMS 3.2 ( CM 5.2) and found out that it is not supported. and there were no device packages for update. But 2941 was supported in LMS 3.1 (CM 5.1.7). What could be a possible way to be able to manage MWR 2941 routers? Is it possible to downgrade the CM 5.2 to CM 5.1.7?

Ok, now it's clear to me. Thanks! I'm going to try these once it has been approved.

Is there any step after this in case it does not resolve the problem?

Hi,

The steps provided so far should do it.

Andres

I already updated mdf package, MWR 2941 devices are now known.

I am going to update RME to 4.3.1 but it is recommended that I have a backup of the RME data. How do I perform backup on RME?

Thanks

Hi Katarina,

I replied about the backup on the new thread you created.

Once the RME upgrade is done, please contact TAC to get the patch for CSCtc21648.

Andres.

Hi Andres,

Ive already updated MDF to 1.51, MWR 2941 DCA routers are already known. Also updated RME to 4.3.1. RME is now able to fetch the config of MWR 2941 DCA routers. What is CSCtc21648?

Thanks,

Katarina

Hi Katarina,

Those are great news.

CSCtc21648 is a known software bug that affects Cisco Works after upgrading from RME 4.3.0 to RME 4.3.1.

The symptom you should observe is that the RME links are missing in device center.

In order to get a patch you need to contact TAC.

Hi Katarina,

I almost forget, as an alternative you can install the LMS 3.2.1 new service pack.

That new update contains the fix for a lot of known bugs in LMS 3.2

Here is the download link:

Here is the readme:

Hope this helps.

How do we restore LMS 3.2 incase we encounter an issue in LMS 3.2.1?
