I work for an ISP with about 4,000 dial up and around 200 DSL. We also have T1, Frame-relay and some ISDN accounts as well. We are looking to purchase a network management software tool to help monitor bandwidth usage and things of such. Any recommendations?

Freeware: MRTG/RRDTool, Cricket
Commercial: Concord eHealth

Also check out Lucent VitalNet (a.k.a VitalSuite)
We use it on our 80+ router Frame Relay WAN, and it works great. Consider it like MRTG on super-steroids.

Give Prtg a try. Sort like MRTG, but runs under windows, easy to setup. Not free, but has a freeware 5 device version.

I use a freeware utility called NMIS. It is written in perl and uses snmp for polling and collection. In my opinion it is awesome. I run it on a linux server although it can be ported to windows. It takes a little time and effort to setup but is well worth it.
