Hi, I am looking for some software that will allow me to monitor LAN/WAN traffic. We are in a Cisco switched network environment. The only thing that I have found so far is a product from Solarwinds. I would like to use something from Cisco if possible... Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

You can use NAM module for this.

Hi Joe.
IMHO, Cisco has not an own product to monitor LAN/WAN traffic (except NAM of course).
In the actual NMS-Solution, the Real-Time-Monitor (NetScout) is available, but it's an EOA-Product.
For myself, I'm using several tools, to monitor the traffic:
MRTG and JFFNMS (Freeware SNMP-Tools) are a little bit tricky to configure.
PRTG (www.paessler.com) is a nice Windowstool; very easy to use and configure (about 50 $)
TheGuard (www.realtech.de) is a full NMS-Software and includes a very good performance tool but not really cheap! (about 16k Euro)
eHealth (www.concord.com) is a pure monitoring tool for performance and availability, very good (I think, the best) but very expensive :-(
Hope this helps
Bye

Joe,
I think the Solarwinds Orion product is very good. We had Concord and I was able to buy a full Orion server for less then I was paying maintenace only with Concord.
I'd would recommend it to anyone.
