New version of LMS

Hi,

I just heard that Cisco is offering previews on LMS 2.5 in Danmark. Unfortunately, I'm more than 1000 km south in Switzerland. Could anyone give some details about this new version?

Habe leider auch nur die Info das LMS 2.5 ab Januar in Deutschland zur Verfügung stehen soll. werde mich aber weiter darum kümmern, da die neue Version auf Client-Seite NICHT so sehr Java belastet sein soll.

You are right concerning the use of Java on the client side. If you look at the presentations you'll see that their is an ongoing development of avoiding Java and create a lightweight HTML GUI.

I got the info, LMS 2.5 is available and to order for 8/2/05.

CiscoWorks LMS 2.5 offers new packaging options, shares data over multiple

servers, and adds IPM

Cisco Systems announces the availability of the CiscoWorks LAN Management

Solution (LMS) 2.5. LMS continues to provide network-management tools for

simplifying the configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting

of Cisco devices in today's enterprises.

Release Summary:

- New device licensing for 300 device networks benefits smaller Enterprise

and branch office needs

- New centralized system for sharing device data across all apps and across

multiple LMS servers

- New Internetwork Performance Monitor improves WAN troubleshooting and

performance monitoring

- User interface improvements and performance enhancements increase user

productivity

- Support for Windows 2003 Server and Solaris 9 at the server expand

customer deployment choices

Availability: CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution 2.5 and associated minor

release update kits will begin shipping on February 28, 2005. Note: LMS 2.5

updates will not be posted for Web download. Customers can order these new

products through normal Cisco sales channels beginning February 8, 2005.
