no ip sla enable reaction-alerts on Cisco Catalyst 3560 vs IOS 12.2(55)SE1 does not disable reaction alerts

Hi,

I am attempting to upgrade a Catalyst 3560 v2 Series PoE-48 from an older Catalyst 3560. I have upgraded the new Cat to IOS 12.2(55) and copied the running-config over.

When comparing the old running-config to the new running-config I discovered that

ip sla enable reaction-alerts

is turned on automatically. As this uses memory and could be a potential form of overhead as we don't use it, I would like to turn it off.

The command

no ip sla enable reaction-alerts

Has no effect: See here below. I have removed the MAC address and the standard texts from the show version.

Is this a bug or am I missing something in order to turn this unwanted (at the moment) functionality off.

On Aug 6, 2010 another Cisco customer also noticed this behaviour, but his thread was on another topic so this message got missed by the Cisco Employee helping.

Re: Ciscoworks showing + and - when running a compliance check

Also the no ip sla enable reaction-alerts command is not removing this from the configuration.
