NTP Issue on Nexus 3548

I have configured a NTP server on a Nexus 3548:

hq3548Xsw01# sho run | incl ntp
ntp server 10.1.6.220 use-vrf managment
ntp source-interface  mgmt0

However, the switch is not pulling time. I want the switch to act as a client only.  No authentication is required to get time from the server.

NTP status shows:

hq3548Xsw01# sho ntp status
Distribution : Disabled
Last operational state: Commit operation failed

The NTP server is accessible from the management VRF  mgmt0

hq3548Xsw01# ping 10.1.6.220 vrf management
PING 10.1.6.220 (10.1.6.220): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 10.1.6.220: icmp_seq=0 ttl=254 time=0.724 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.6.220: icmp_seq=1 ttl=254 time=0.53 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.6.220: icmp_seq=2 ttl=254 time=0.543 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.6.220: icmp_seq=3 ttl=254 time=0.52 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.6.220: icmp_seq=4 ttl=254 time=0.508 ms

--- 10.1.6.220 ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0.00% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.508/0.564/0.724 ms

What am I missing?

 - 1) Make sure the NTP server does not block your (nexus) client, by some kind of ACL mechanism. 2) Check whether it is usable from another client-'source' besides your nexus. 3) If it has client logs , examine them and look for proper connectivity from your nexus.
