Prime Infrastructure 3.1.2 upgrade warning

For those that have not upgraded to this level yet, please be sure to review the following link and understand the licensing implications. The 3.1.2 upgrade was listed as a Critical Update and since it was minor (already at 3.1), I proceeded without reading up on it first. The version now converts the licensing from a device based model to a "token" based model where larger devices require multiple "tokens".

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/cloud-systems-management/prime-infrastructure/presentation-c97-735996.pdf

**see page 93 for the table of device to token conversions

My Nexus 7K switch for instance, which has 1 admin VDC and 4 child VDCs, should take 1 device license in my opinion.  However, it would have taken 5 device licenses in the past and will now need 70 tokens to keep in Prime for management!

Since the update and with ASRs and Nexus 9Ks and other things, my environment is now throwing licensing alerts every time I login.  I don't see how this should have been turned on with a minor revision and not communicated out to users in any way.  It is essentially resurrecting the old DLU licensing model from the voice infrastructure that was so miserable and such a failure in the past.

Great news for those of us who are now already on 3.1.2. Not the first time a version has been revoked where systems get stuck on that version. I do hope they will let me patch up to a version that reverts this "feature".
