hello,

I need your help for the following situation in my company we are developing an app for monitoring network and devices.
I've seen the prime infrastructure work and i like .

when SW are configured in prime infrastructure, we able to obtain information about devices connected to sw ... ip, hostname .. location ... switch ip, port switch ...

someone can tell me how prime infrastructure makes it ?
There are specific MIBs for the following fields (see attached image)

PI uses a combination of SNMP MIB-gathered information as well as the retrieved configuration and correlates it in a local database for presentation and retrieval by the end user as shown n the screenshot you attached. There's no one special MIB that gives you all the information.

Part of the value of an enterprise network management system such as PI is the presentation of that information from disparate sources in a useful manner.

Apart from the valuable info share by Marvin, just to give you an example how NMS applications collect end host details using SNMP, can be read through the following docs :

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/simple-network-management-protocol-snmp/13492-cam-snmp.html

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/simple-network-management-protocol-snmp/44800-mactoport44800.html

-Thanks

Hello Vinod,

I too am looking for some MIBs but I need the one that describes the Traps that Prime Infrastructure sends :

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/prime_infrastructure/1-2/configuration/guide/pi_12_cg/event.html

I have not found any references to the MIB or MIBs I need to download to decode the traps.

Can you help locate it  / them ?

Thanks,

    Don
