Hi,
I have  following items for network monitoring.
  1. R-PI12-BASE-K9
  2. L-PI12-AS-50
  3. L-PILMS42-50
  4. L-PI12-LF-50-LIC
At the time of implementation I am getting confuses,
    1. I have found two software in a package one is Prime Infrastructure 1.2 (.ova extension) and LMS 4.2 (.exe extension), which one I have to
        install ?
    2. For PI 1.2 I need a esxi server, can I install this software without esxi (I mean any windows platform) ??
    3. For LMS, I need a windows server to install the software, so can I installed only LMS 4.2 ? It will work without PI 1.2 ??
    4. If I have to installed both the software then any integration is required or not ??
Thanks

There is an LMS-PI feature comparison guide on this page:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/cloud-systems-management/prime-infrastructure/white-paper-listing.html

Your purchase should have included a support contract and you need to associate your cisco.com userid with that to give you access to download LMS. The page for LMS downloads is here:

https://software.cisco.com/download/type.html?mdfid=284259296&flowid=37207

PI 1.2 licenses can be used on 3.0.

You have a very old version of PI. Version 1.2 was released several years ago - the current release is 3.0.3.

PI can only be installed on an ESXi server (unless you have the Cisco "NCS Appliance" which includes PI pre-installed with the custom Linux build and hardware drivers).

LMS is separate product, licenses for which were included with PI 1.x and 2.x purchases because Cisco was not yet able to provide significant feature parity between the traditional wired management product (LMS) and the converged wireless-wired platform (PI). LMS is not quite end of life but there are no new versions released since 2014 when 4.2.5 was released.

LMS can be installed on either Windows Server or VMware ESXI platforms.

The two products are completely separate and unaware of each other. If you choose to run both they must be on different servers (or separate VMs)

Okay Sir,

 I do understand.

Now we don't have any ESXi , so we are planning to install only LMS, so in that case what type of features are available in LMS? I mean to say what is the feature wise difference between PI and LMS ?

Another thing is that we are only receive the license PAK (without media), so how can we download the softwares ??

And as you say if I install PI version 3.0, then for licensing can we use the licenses of version 1.2 ??

Thanks
