I had come across the term plain internet traffic and proxy internet traffic.

What is here the proxy internet traffic. Can you explain this

Hi there,

plain internet traffic would be the flows directly between and client and destination address.

Proxy internet traffic would be the traffic flows originating from a web proxy which is contacting the destination address on behalf of the client. What are the use cases for this? Web-caching and SSL decryption are common examples.
