We've recently upgraded out PIX to 7.0(1). Our CW server (LMS 2.5) running RME 4.0 can not back up the PIX. We've tried using telnet instead to no luck. The ACS logs show it logs in successfully and that's it. I have a case open with TAC but not getting much help. Anyone has this scenerio and have it working?

Bump again.
Does anyone have LMS2.5 backing up a PIX running 7.0(1)? I've recently upgraded to 4.0.1 RME and it's still not working.
Looks to me an IDU is required.

I don't think IDU support is the issue here. PIX's are supported by default in both of the RME versions you have mentioned. You should be able to backup your configs using either Telnet or SSH without any problem
See the following links:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/cw2000e/e_3_x/3_5/e3_5.htm#wp41886
(If you're in any doubt about device support, then run an SNMPWALK on the sysObjectID to ensure that you device OID is definitely listed in the supported device list)
Have you verified that all the credentials on the server are correct for the device e.g. enable password etc, through 'Check Device Attributes' ?
If all appears to be setup correctly, then I'd be tempted to sniff the traffic running between the CiscoWorks server and the router to see exactly what's going on ...
Let us know your findings

Correction: Sniff traffic between Server and PIX (not router !)

I have sniffed the traffic. I have enabled telnet and ssh support. Using both methods CW logs into the PIX (TACACS) and that's about it.
I'm going to upgrade another 535 to 7.0(1) and test with it.

I have the same problem with the following versionas:
RME 4.0.2
PIX 7.0(4)
RME seems to hang during the telnet session (not getting expected response from PIX to continue!!!?)

I added the following command in PIX and it works now:
