RV325 Time Stamp incorrect in log

Since upgrading the RV325 Firmware the time stamp in the log file appears to have the incorrect time.

I notice when I clear the log and log off and then log back in the time appears correctly. However, once an additional entry is recorded the timestamp does not change. I use time.nist.gov to keep the correct time and have also used a timeserver IP address neither seem to matter. Has anyone noticed this too?

Thanks.

Ok, got some Beta firmware from Cisco to test out on a spare RV320 I've got at my house. I'll be playing around with that to get the log files up to date. Also said it may fix other known issues, so we'll see.

I just got an email notification that a new FW v1.5.1.05 has been release for RV320/RV325.

Unfortunately, it seems that related release notes are not yet available: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/routers/small-business-rv-series-routers/products-release-notes-list.html

Do you know by chance if this release includes a fix for the timestamp issue?

I have no idea. I have not received the update notice. Thanks for posting. I will take a look and see, but you will probably be ahead of me on this front since I won’t be able to mess with it till the weekend.

You are aware the RV320/325 are reaching end of support. I have been planning a move away from Cisco for my SOHO applications. So I don’t really care if they ever fix this... It’s just one of the many reasons I’m switching.

Best of luck.

Thanks for your info about the new release. I loaded FW v1.5.1.05 on the RV325 yesterday and noticed that the time stamp is working now. After 24 hrs of running the logs reflect the correct time stamp.

It appears on my router ( because I monitor everything ) that when the allotted size has been reached, it drops the oldest transactions to make room for new entries.

It also appears that at some point ( around 3AM ) the entire log was cleared. Todays transactions began at 3AM.

I installed the firmware on 10/25 at 5:55am. So it does not keep an entire day in the log most likely due to memory restriction. So if you need/require a lo of detail setup a syslog server to hold the data.

Hope this helps

Thanks.  I too was able to load the new firmware.  Yes, it does appear the log time is now correct.  Looks like this bug is in the bag.

FYI: Release notes for FW 1.5.1.05 are finally online and section "Resolved Issues" contains the following entry:
CSCvh65180 RV32x: Events are shown at the same time in logs.
