smart license call home

Hi all,

recently we installed a new catalyst 9500 switches.

we configured call home connecting to cisco smart account (Cloud).

we activated the license (network advantage) and checked the activation (at the switch and the cloud dashboard).

after a month we checked once more the activation, saw the switch returned to EVAL status.

the only changed made this month is the switch HOSTNAME.

my questions are:

1. what is the exact process of the call home feature?

2.  which parameters negotiate between the switch and cloud?

3. how can we get Syslog about activation change? (we configured SNMP related log, output below)

the First activation output:

Registration:
Status: REGISTERED
Smart Account: ## "Company Account" ##
Export-Controlled Functionality: ALLOWED
Initial Registration: SUCCEEDED on Oct 07 15:36:35 2019 IDT
Last Renewal Attempt: None
Next Renewal Attempt: Apr 04 15:36:34 2020 IDT
Registration Expires: Oct 06 15:31:29 2020 IDT

after a month:

Registration:
Status: UNREGISTERED
Smart Account:## "Company Account" ##
Export-Controlled Functionality: ALLOWED

call home configuration related:

service call-home
call-home
contact-email-addr ## "email" ##
source-interface ## "VLAN_ID" ##
vrf  ## "VRF" ##
http-proxy ## "Proxy_IP" ## port 8080
no http secure server-identity-check
profile ## "Profile" ##
reporting smart-licensing-data
destination transport-method http
no destination transport-method email
destination address http https://tools.cisco.com/its/service/oddce/
snmp-server enable traps call-home message-send-fail server-fail

thanks for helping,

Oron Yaniv

What firmware is the switch running on?

Version 16.12.1c

last firmware, because we needed a feature introduced only on the above version.

I've used 16.11.1 and Smart License is still working.
I have not used 16.12.X.
