smtp server in LMS 3.1

Hello,

I have trouble to insert smtp server to LMS 3.1 in System preferences. When I fill in the name or IP adress of the SMTP server, there are following message:

Invalid IP address or server name for mail server. Please enter a valid SMTP server name or leave the SMTP Server field blank.

The SMTP server, which I want fill in, is responding to ping.

All known SMTP bugs should be fixed in LMS 3.1. Make sure the LMS server can connect to your SMTP server on TCP port 25. You may also want to start a sniffer trace filtering on tcp/25 traffic to your SMTP server, then try and change the value in LMS, and see what the trace says.
