SNMP and Temperature

I changed the temp thresholds from their default value of around 54 to 23 degrees below the RED threshold making the YELLOW threshold 42.  Now when I do this:

#sh env st
SWITCH: 1
FAN is OK
TEMPERATURE is OK
Temperature Value: 47 Degree Celsius
Temperature State: YELLOW
Yellow Threshold : 42 Degree Celsius
Red Threshold    : 65 Degree Celsius
POWER is OK
RPS is NOT PRESENT

SWITCH: 2
FAN is OK
TEMPERATURE is OK
Temperature Value: 45 Degree Celsius
Temperature State: YELLOW
Yellow Threshold : 42 Degree Celsius
Red Threshold    : 65 Degree Celsius
POWER is OK
RPS is NOT PRESENT

You can see that it says the temperature state is YELLOW.

Now when I poll SNMP this is what I get:

Temperature sensor 'SW#1, Sensor#1, GREEN ' is in 'Normal' state.
Current value: 47, threshold value: 65

Temperature sensor 'SW#2, Sensor#1, GREEN ' is in 'Normal' state.
Current value: 45, threshold value: 65

So I never get an alert that the switch is out of GREEN threshold.

I am using WhatsUp Gold V16.1.3 for my monitoring application.

The switches that this is occuring on are stacked 3750G's running c3750-advipservicesk9-mz.122-46.SE.bin IOS.

Thank you.

check whcih switches modules,

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean.

Dear Brandon McCreavy,

I am using Cisco Prime Infratructure to monitor Stacked C3750, C2960, 6504E.

I even cannot get device's temperature.

Could you please share which specific MIB that you used to get Switch's temperature?

Thanks & Regards

Here are the MIBs that I am looking at

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.2

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.4

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.6

Thank you

Thank McCreary,

So all above OIDs are included in CISCO-ENVMON-MIB.

I know that I asked very basic question.

I used many NMS software, all of them display devices (cisco sw) temperature immediately however my Cisco PI 1.3 cannot display it.

Best Regards

please configure

like this

Snmp-server enable traps envmon fan shutdown supply temperature status

rate it,

Thanks.

My problem is that the teperature is not display on Cisco PI 1.3.

Of course, if I use other Monitoring Software, I can easilly get this information by 02 ways: SNMP polling or TRAP as you suggest.

Best Regards

Anyone else please help?

Hi Cuong

PI should show temp. utilization by default in TOP N ENV TEMP dashlet.

Can you tell which devices are managed and their IOS version?

Dear Mahabir,

It does not work for me.

Please check help me:
