Hello all,

can someone give me advice on configuring "SNMP v2". I've a wan with 128k with about 16 spokes and 1 hub. I want to get statistic so I'm afraid if SNMP will kill my little bandwidth.

best regards,

Alcides Miguel

This would depend on what you are soliciting via snmp. If you request data that is return say a large cam or routing table or you walk the entire mib tree for a device, etc., then performance could take a momentry hit while that data is processed. Other factors will included the number of devices managed over said link, how often and what is polled, etc. So you may want to do a test run to see what the impact may be since you are on a slow link. If not polling repetitively in short intervals, it should be doable over this link.
