Hello All,

I got a new SPA interface (SPA-2X1GE-V2). I already have SIP 400 installed on my router on which I am trying to insert this card.

My SIP card does not detect this card and given an error :

*Mar 17 05:09:34.179: %SPA_OIR-6-ONLINECARD: SPA (SPA-2X1GE-V2) online in subslot 2/0
*Mar 17 05:09:34.651: %SPA_OIR-6-ONLINECARD: SPA (SPA-2X1GE-V2) online in subslot 2/1
*Mar 17 05:09:34.083: %DIAG-SP-6-DIAG_OK: Module 2/0: Passed Online Diagnostics
*Mar 17 05:09:34.151: %DIAG-SP-6-RUN_MINIMUM: Module 2/1: Running Minimal Diagnostics...
*Mar 17 05:09:34.175: %DIAG-SP-6-DIAG_OK: Module 2/1: Passed Online Diagnostics
SLOT 2: *Mar 17 05:09:39.975: %SMC-2-BAD_ID_HW: Failed Identification Test in 2/1/0 [3/0]

The module in 2/1/0 in this router may not be a genuine
Cisco product.  Cisco warranties and support programs only
apply to genuine Cisco products.  If Cisco determines that
your insertion of non-Cisco memory, WIC cards, AIM cards,
Network Modules, SPA cards, GBICs or other modules into a
Cisco product is the cause of a support issue, Cisco may
deny support under your warranty or under a Cisco support

I am not sure why I am getting this error. checked

Please suggest how to resolve this issue. :-(

Thanks & Regards,

Ashwini

Please reset the new SPA.

If problem still exist, post the output to the command "sh version".

Sorry for late reply. My  DC does not have any internet connection.

It did not worked. Changed Slot and Subslot. but issue still persist.

Version is 15.2(2)S2

Hi All,

I got answer for this. All I need is to remove SFP or RJ45 cable and reboot the subslot, it comes up perfectly fine.

Thank & Regards,

Ashwini

Hi Ashwini,

This is not a good sign, "%SMC-2-BAD_ID_HW: Failed Identification Test " most of the time this is resolved by hardware replacement.

You might want to open a TAC case for it.
