Switchport trunk configuration with Prime Infrastructure 3.4

Hello.

from PI 3.1 up to 3.4 i have the problem that switchport trunk configuration with allowed vlans is not working.

For example:

I click on a Device -> Configuration -> Interfaces -> SwitchPort -> select the interface to configure-> edit

I choose Trunk as mode, native vlan 1198 and allowed vlans 1,900,1198 -> Save

Now i look at the switche cli and can only see this

***

interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/10
 switchport trunk native vlan 1198
 switchport mode trunk

The "switchport trunk allowed vlan" line is missing.

Does anybody know this problem and how to fix it?

best regards

Sebastian

native vlan 1198 and allowed vlans 1,900,1198

native vlans is untagged packets, allowed vlan is tagged packets

I'm not sure, but in my eyes I see some inconsistency here -

> I suggest to remove 1198 from the allowed vlans list and try again

Hi Pieter,

you have to have the native vlan in the list of allowed vlans.

Otherwise the native vlan will not be allowed and therefor will not be working.

Nevertheless i tested it and it is not working too.

Dear, sebastian_vey
I have the same case here, but i think that its not a problem, because i control it with VTP prunning. I think that its a characteristics of theses devices.

Hi Jaderson,

this could be a solution, but as far as i know, vtp is not working with vlan id's higher than 1005.

So i thing vtp prunning is also not working.

I always configure ports from cli but some of my customers want to use prime.

Sebastian brings up a good point!

look at this table

1.PNG

please check the switch is configured to use vtp version 3 and is in transparent mode

Hi Pieter,

thanks for that.

I didn't know that VTP version 3 supports extended vlans. But we are drifting away from the topic itself.

I can configure the switchport with the extended vlans on cli. And everything is working fine.

My only question is, why is it not working when i configure it via Prime? I can configure it in prime too, but the

allowed vlans command is not taken over to the cli / switchport.

It is not critical to me. It would only be nice for some customers.

best regards

Sebastian
