Hello,
We have a centralized syslog server, which our Cisco switches send their syslog messages too. That works fine.
However, we do not currently have an SNMP trap collector.
Are there events that would generate a trap, but not a syslog message? And if so, is there a command to forward traps as syslog messages? I saw the command:
snmp-server enable traps syslogs
to send syslog messages as traps. I guess I would want to do the opposite -- send traps as syslogs?
Thanks

Offhand, HSRP state change traps do not have a syslog equivalent, although usually there're related events in syslog about bouncing interfaces.

Hi,
this command still sends traps.
You could use ciscoworks lms 2.5 with dfm. DFM has an notification service to generate traps or syslog to somewhere else.
