Hi, I have a dhcp pool on a public network and recently there are very strange MAC addresses geting dhcp from the router.
Here is an example:
10.20.2.155 0034.6564.3766.6666. Nov 21 2011 02:43 PM Automatic
3337.64
and also:
10.20.1.189 004b Nov 20 2011 06:07 PM Automatic
The router is giving out IP's to both DHCP and BOOTP requests.
The IOS is pretty old, c2801-advsecurityk9-mz.124-3g.bin and I will upgrade it in the next fiew days wich will probably fix this issue. I am just curious how a client can use such an erroneus MAC address and get a DHCP binding? Or is this because of a buggy IOS?
