Wrong IOS image on IPBASE Router

I'm trying to determine the meaning of the error, "Wrong IOS image on IPBASE Router". Surprisingly, Google seemed to turn up nothing at all on the subject. I recently purchased a Cisco 866VAE. It came without an operating system so I'm trying to put c860vae-advsecurityk9-mz.153-3.M.bin on it. I booted into rommon and installed the image via tftp. When I go to boot the router endlessly cycles through the following output:

Booting flash:/c860vae-advsecurityk9-mz.153-3.M.bin
boot: Launch entrypt: 0x80800000
Self decompressing the image :

Wrong IOS image on IPBASE Router

System reload in 5 seconds

Is that to say that the router itself can only support the IPBase OS?

Edit: Also attempted installation of c860-universalk9-mz.153-3.M.bin. Same problem encountered.

This IOS is incompatible because the filename is incorrect.  866VAE IOS should be "c860vae" and not just plain "c860".

Same problem encountered despite naming convention. I also tried installing:

c860vae-advsecurityk9_npe-mz.153-1.T.bin

Same boot output:

I haven't looked into this avenue yet, but is it possible even though an IOS is recommended that the device may have insufficient memory?

I'll probably look into this tomorrow, but I saw the above article and was wondering if that was a feasible problem.
