Hi,

Kindly let us know the snmpwalk output for the OID - 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.

Here is the Device Supported list for LMS 3.2

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.2/device_support/table/lms32sdt.html

Thanks,

Gaganjeet

Hi,

#show snmp sysobjectid type
Configured  value : use stack OID
Operational value : use stack OID

#show version

Switch Ports Model              SW Version            SW Image
------ ----- -----              ----------            ----------
*    1 28    WS-C2960S-24PS-L   12.2(53)SE2           C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M
     2 28    WS-C2960S-24PS-L   12.2(53)SE2           C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M

In the LMS 3.2, the devices are recognized by the RME and CS, but not by DFM, what involves that alarms are not beeing generated. In LMS 3.1, this devices are not supported by any application.

Cheers,
Laura

Hi Laura,

Thanks for the update. What is the status of the device in DFM is it in pending , unknow or known. Was you able to manager this device ever in DFM. Kindly do snmpwalk from the device centre for this device for the SysObjectID. Also, what version of SNMP you have configured on device and SNMP.

Kindly make sure you have lastest version of mdf installed for Common Services and all the device packages for DFM too from Common Services > Software Centre > Software update.

After installing the device packages for DFM. Kindly try to delete and add the device from DFM and see if DFM recognize it properly.

Thanks,

Gaganjeet

Hi,

DFM shows devices as unnknon. I have already checked if there is any available update, and there isn't.

Regards the SNMP version, it's configured version 2c.

I attach the screenshoot for the devices in LMS 3.1 and LMS 3.2.

I try to delete them and also to put them as other type in "Device Type", but DFM doesn't recognize them (in neither version of LMS).

Thanks for your support!!

Laura

Hi,

I think i found the problem. If you wil see the screenshot of device centre, the device is yet not supported in CiscoWorks since the device type is unknow. You had mentioned that CS and RME was able to manage the device. Kindly post the screeenshot of the Inventory collection status for this device from RME.

Also, kindly post the screenshot of RME > Devices > Device Management.

Thanks,

Gaganjeet

Hi,

I guessed it wa because DFM didn't support these devices, but I don't understand why they are recognised by RME and CS...

I attach the screen shoot for one of these devices from DFM, RME and DCR. The three of them are from  LMS 3.2

Thanks!

Laura

Hi,

Ciscoworks LMS 3.2 does supports 2960s.

With DFM it may show a list of devices as unsupported as we have to update a conf file to make them supported.

The following device OID needs to be updated in the DFM config file.
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1027
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1022
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1026
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1023
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1019
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1020
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1024
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1021
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1025
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1146
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1147
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1148
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1105
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1139
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1138
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1172
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1173
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1174

In CM you have to update package from CS > software > device update to latest CM package to support 2960's.

Hi,

Where is this DFM config file you have suggested? I found out that OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1027 is for catalyst3750v248ps, is this correct?

The CM has been already updated to the latest packages and it doesn't recognize the 2960S devices...

Cheers,
Laura

Please use the attached file and replace the original one from :

NMSROOT\objects\smarts\conf\discovery

Take a backup of original somewhere and paste the new conf file and restart dmgtd.

-Thanks

Hi,

I stopped the daemon manager, copied the file you send me into D:\CSCOpx\objects\smarts\conf\discovery and then restarted the daemon manager, but the devices are not being discovered yet.

By the way, I checked this new config file you have sent me and there is no mention to the WS-C2960S-48FPS-L, are they supposed to be in this new config file?

Cheers,
