>Device freeze with error code

As far as production readiness  and availability is concerned ; I would power cycle the switch and check if it comes up again (if no more debugging activities are urgent).

Did the switch crash? If it did, post the complete output to the command "dir crashinfo:" and "dir".

Hello, thank you for answer,

Configuration register is 0x2101

There is very old firmware.

New information from customer: Device is working, but from time to time it freeze with above mentioned error.

Thank you

The crashinfo directory is empty and the "sh version" output points to a power issue.
How many power supplies does this chassis have?
NOTE: Look at the config-register value.

How did you find out, that there could be problem with power ?

Chassis have 2 power supplies.

Regarding your notes, thanks for warnning, If I understand it correctly main issue is, that when I have reg 0x2101, it will boot first image from flash, so if I want to upgrade IOS newer, I have to change register to default 0x2102, am I right ?

Thank you

Because the output from the "sh version" says it could be power.

ok-dra-20 uptime is 5 hours, 59 minutes
System returned to ROM by power-on

Hello, thanks for answer,

regarding power-on, it could be affected by physical restart, because device freezes, with error PC 0x0. I have already checked few swithces, and there is same information: "System returned to ROM by power-on". Next thing is, that device have two power supplies. So I do not think, that problem is with power supply. Please correct me, if I´m wrong, because, I do not have lot of  experience with power supplies.

Thank you

"Power-On

If the show version command output shows restarted by reload or System returned to ROM by power-on, you can infer that the router was either power-cycled, or that the power source went down for a few seconds. Verify your power source and troubleshoot the outlet circuit (power to router)."

And where is this "PC 0x0" because I don't see this in the "sh version" output.

Hello, now, i have received this output, there is, what did you ask for. (I guess, guy on customer site restarted SW after this error, so we did not see error in sh version)

ok-dra-20 -20 uptime is 51 minutes

What do you think about ?

Thank you

Raise a TAC Case.
It is difficult (very) to assess and analyze since there is no crashinfo file(s) to decipher.

Hi Leo,

it is few months later, but we have still same problem. It looks device doesn´t have support anymore, so last chance is to solve it here.

I upgraded device to Version 15.2(2)E8 (recommended by cisco as MD).

I still did not have crashinfo, but in show version there is again reload reason: abort  at PC 0x0.

I attached file with logging, and output of show version is below :
