ASA-5506W WiFi blinking red

Lost Packet
Level 1
Level 1

Upon boot the LED indicator for WiFi on this ASA-5506W cycles through blinking green to blinking red. The documentation says it means "Ethernet link not operational". Since this is a hardware addon, I assume ethernet link is hard wired inside. To make sure this is not a software configuration issue, so far I have tried to :

1. Reset ASA to factory

2. Unsuccessfully tried connecting to 192.168.10.2

3. Performed the wlan module recover without any resolution

4. Performed the wlan module reset without any resolution

5. From ASA console connected to 702i console (session wlan console) but ap console does not seem to accept enable command. So I was not able to enable http server on ap.

Since this is a backup unit, at this point there is no RMA possibility. So any suggestions to try out before calling wlan part of this ASA lost cause?

hi,

since this is a backup unit, can you try to factory reset the 5506?

when you try the 'session wlan console', what enable password did you use? did you try the default 'Cisco'?

Sorry, I was away so could not respond.

Problem as stated is ap does not allow enable. So I tried reset. It probably identified an issue

bad mzip file, uncompressed to wrong length , (0x1cf119d != 0x1cf1660)

Error loading "flash:/ap1g1-k9w7-mx.153-3.JC1/ap1g1-k9w7-mx.153-3.JC1"

But I don't know where I can get the correct file and how to load it to wlan addon board from 5506W host.

Thx.

ciscoasa(config)# hw-module module wlan recover configuration

Configuration recovery is now complete.
You can now session into the module console to issue any further commands.
ciscoasa(config)# session wlan console
