Hi,
we have a customer with 2 x ASA5510-SEC-BUN-K9 running in an active/active HA mode.
On the primary ASA he has 25 SSL premium licenses, but on the secondary ASA he has only 10 SSL licenses.
Is there a need that both ASA´s has the same kind of licenses?
Thanks and kind regards
Nils

Hi Nils,
If you are using ASA version 8.3 or later you do not need the same licenses on the two units, the license would be shared between the boxes, but if it is a version previous to 8.3 then you would definitely need identical licenses on the two boxes.
Hope that helps.

Hi Arun,
thank you for your fast response.
What about licensing in case of using a active/passive HA mode? The same licensing model?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards, Markus

Absolutely, the info above is in the case you are using failover(either active/passive or active/active) only.
