ASA 8.4(4) to ASA 9.1.2

Soeren Rosiak

Hi there.

I'm about to upgrade our 5510 software.

Like the title states we're going from 8.4(4) to 9.1.2.

Is there any important changes? Like the NAT from 8.2.5 to 8.4?

Is it just a typical upgrade? Or is there anything i need to specific aware of?

The setup is primary used for l2tp dial in and clientless ssl(we're upgrading the firmware for this reason, to get it up2date)

Thanks!

Regards, Søren.

Hi Soeren,

The upgrade is fairly staright forward, no changes in NAT or acl or any other portion of configuration. Follow the generic procedure to upgrade the ASA's:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a008067e9f9.shtml

In case, devices are in failover:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa84/configuration/guide/admin_swconfig.html#wp1380398

Always check out the release notes for the version you want to upgrade to:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa91/release/notes/asarn91.html
