ASA is making a high pitched whining noise at regular intervals (every half an hour or so). Initial review of logs do not show root cause.

I would suggest to check if the CPU is high at the time. And also try to see where the noise is from (i.e. fan)

It could be a hardware issue, but you should try to correlate the noise with what is happening on the box in terms of load.
