ASA NGFW Services - Subscription Start Dates

Hi All,

When does a NGFW service subscription (such as AVC) begin?  When the license is activated on the ASA?  or when Cisco generate the license? Reading through the Licensing Guides and the Configuration guides, I can find plenty of detail around what happens what a NGFW service's subscription ends, just not when it starts.

Hi David,

Permanent license doesn't have any validity.... it starts when you activate it.... but time based license have the counter starting when you activate in asa....
