ASA software 8.2(5.46) and ASDM

Hi Everyone,

Currently we are doing software upgrade on 1 ASA to see how it goes.

ASA 5520 has  Software Version 8.0(5)28.

ASDM it has is asdm-61552.bin

If i upgrade Software to 8.2(5.46) do i also need to upgrade the ASDM to version asdm-715-100.bin?

Will this upgrade cause connectivity issues with other ASA which are running Software Version 8.0(5)28.?

Hi Mahesh,

Please see the compatibility matrix here which tells you ASA 8.2(5) requires ASDM 6.4(3) and later.

ASDM 7.1(5) is recommended but not required. The 7.1(5.100) ASDM build of course addresses the Java 7 Update 51 issue which you have probably read about.

There should be no compatibility issues between the ASAs running the older and newer software versions you mentioned.
