asa5525x with ips license.....

hi guys,

i need lil advise ... we got two new asa with ips and licenses... as in x series it is software module except 5585x.... i have a guide on how to setup ip, upload image for ips send traffic etc etc... as ips can be setup diff ways n flavors like host based/ network based and signatures and honey pot etc etc... them can be done with sensors but not sure if can be done with x series software module.... as documentation i have got has basic stuff like forwarding traffic to module ip etc.... i need to know if same tweaking can be done with software module as with sensors , also for logging and monitoring can i use IME OR CISCO SECURITY MANAGER ? or if you guys can advice of something else? thanks

Hello.

So traffic must reach the asa so we can redirect it to the IPS. That's the only way the traffic get inspected by it

U can use IME with no problems at all. I have not tried with CSM but I guesa u should be fine. .
