Hi,
I got 2x ASA5540-k8, I just checked that 3DES is "disabled" on the firewalls.
I've seen lots of material online, 3DES is free and all I have to do is enter the serial number of my device below, to obtain my license key:

Question:
1. Do I need to upgrade/ change the image of my ASA5540-k8 to a "k9" version? Or can I use the original IOS software that came with my ASA5540-k8?
2. Is this is as simple as encoding entering the license key on the ASA5540 to enable 3 DES ?
3. Is these truly free?
Thanks,
Paul

I concur with John. +5
FYI the ASA software is not IOS - it's simply ASA softtware.
