ASDM Traffic Status Dashboard

We've recently shut down an interface on one of our ASA5510s as we no longer use that service provider.  The dashboard, however, still insists on showing traffic usage on this interface.  How do I change the dashboard to display a more meaningful interface?

Ahhh, got it. You would like to remove interface e0/0 from being displayed on ASDM as the interface is not being used, or just display interfaces that you would like to see on ASDM.

Unfortunately, the answer is no, you can't modify the look and feel of ASDM.

Great thanks.

Base on the output information, the interface is shutdown in software "administratively down", however, the cable and the other side of the cable is still connected, hence it's showing "line protocol is up".

To completely stop the activity on the interface, you can perform one of the following:

1) Disconnect the cable between the ASA ethernet 0/0 interface and the switch port.

OR/

2) Shutdown the port on the switch which connects to the ASA interface.

Unfortunately, you must have missed my point.  I shut down the interface because we no longer use that ISP.  What I heeded is how to change the ASDM to display the interface of choice, trather than the one that is now shut down . . . on purpose.

Hi Wolfgang, I'm sure by now that you have resolved this issue. I was just looking at the same kind of problem. What you would need to do is raise the security level of the interface that you are no longer using. The ASDM will use the lowest security level interface in the ASDM as your external interface.
