What version are you trying to load?

How did you get into this error? Are you trying to upgrade the ASA? If yes, what was your previous version and what are you trying to upgrade it to?

You can tftp the new image via rommon mode

Re: Cisco ASA 5510 Error 15 file not found

You can go to "enable" mode and view your current configuration and configure it accordingly.

"show run" will show you a copy of the existing configuration if there is any.

Re: Cisco ASA 5510 Error 15 file not found

Hi,

You could simply use this configuration command to copy files to ASA

copy tftp://x.x.x.x/.bin flash:/

Where

  • x.x.x.x = Is the IP address of the host behind the ASA that has TFTP server running and has the file to be copied
  • = Is the name of the file to be copied, in your case asa725-k8.bin

I think you are most likely inserting wrong values in your command.

For example the filename section you have inserted the IP address.

Re: Cisco ASA 5510 Error 15 file not found

Hi,

No, you simply have to use "enable" to get to the correct configuration mode.

For example

ASA> ena

Password: *******

ASA# copy tftp://x.x.x.x/.bin flash:/

No need to for example use "conf term".

Also the ASA wont even give you an option to use the command if youre not in the correct configuration mode.

Re: Cisco ASA 5510 Error 15 file not found

Hi,

You specified only the source where you are downloading the file from. You have not specified the destination where to copy the file

Use

copy tftp://192.168.1.1/asa725-k8.bin flash:/

Provided that you actually have a host behind your ASA with IP address 192.168.1.1 and its not the ASA IP address?
