Cisco ASA - Router on a stick - Intervlan Routing

Hello Guys, 

 

I connected ASA with Internet (Outside port) and Connected with switch as a trunk port. I configured vlan10 (inside) and vlan20 (guestWIFI). I want to make sure vlan10 and vlan20 should reach each other but it is not.  i attached the Network topology and Here is the Configuration.

Hi,

You traffic is probably being unintentionally being natted. Define a NAT exemption rule, e.g.

nat (inside,guestWIFI) source static vlan-ten vlan-ten destination static vlan-twenty vlan-twenty no-proxy-arp

 

Apply this NAT exemption rule and test again, if this does not work run packet-tracer from the CLI and provide the output for review.

Hi,

You traffic is probably being unintentionally being natted. Define a NAT exemption rule, e.g.

nat (inside,guestWIFI) source static vlan-ten vlan-ten destination static vlan-twenty vlan-twenty no-proxy-arp

 

Apply this NAT exemption rule and test again, if this does not work run packet-tracer from the CLI and provide the output for review.

I added the command but did not help, and i debug the icmp and got following results.

The ASA will only respond to icmp traffic sent to the interface it came in on (vlan 10), you cannot ping through the ASA to it's far interface (vlan 20). This is by design.

For testing ping "through" the ASA to a device that isn't the ASA's interface.

I can ping ASA to vlan 10 PC(10.10.10.5)and vlan 20 (20.20.20.10) PC but my motive is to reach vlan 10 PC from Vlan 20 PC . Is that possible ?

 

Right now its showing following debugs.

Yes, that's possible, you just can't expect to ping from vlan 10 PC to the ASA's vlan 20 interface, that won't work.


Run packet-tracer and provide the output for review.
