difference ASA5510-BUN-K9 and ASA5510-Sec-Bun-K9

Hi

ASA 5510 have two model Bun-K9 and Sec-Bun-K9

from the datasheet find out difference Port related and Redundancy.

My questions is : Have any major difference for Security service between two model ??.

Hi Iqbal,

as you can see the difference in the datasheet, there is a difference of license on the two. In ASA5510-Sec-Bun-K9, you have the failover license along with the license for 2 gigabitethernet ports.

If you are asking hardware wise, they both are the same. Its just a difference of license features on the two.

If you do not want failover license and the gig ports you can go for ASA5510-Sec-K9, its the same.

But many times client asks as ASA5510-Bun-K9  not mentioned SEC so any lagging for security feature without failover& Port License. so what will answer of us ??

Hi Iqbal,

No there are no lagging security features in ASA5510-Bun-K9, the only two things that you would not have is:

No failover between two firewalls possible

No gig port available for high speed data transfer

Except these two there are no security lagging in it.

If the client doesnt want these, then you can purchase ASA5510-Bun-K9.
